Who is this course for?

For developers, DevOps learners and IT professionals who know Git and basic scripting and want to build, troubleshoot and govern automation. GitHub Foundations is useful preparation without being a mandatory credential prerequisite.

WHAT YOU WILL STUDY

Course outline

These are the current StudyKernel modules, with examples of the lessons in each. Check the vendor outline for the full exam scope and your planned exam date.

Workflow authoring

Trace events, evaluation, job dependencies, runners and explicit data contracts.

  • Follow an event through a workflow
  • Choose events and filters deliberately
  • Give manual and reusable entry points a clear contract

Workflow consumption and diagnosis

Identify the right run, interpret evidence and consume shared automation safely.

  • Identify the run before interpreting its result
  • Find the earliest cause with bounded diagnostics
  • Retrieve logs and artifacts with the right identity

Custom action development

Implement, test, package and maintain actions with clear interfaces and failures.

  • Choose the action boundary that fits the task
  • Make action metadata match executable behaviour
  • Build and test a small JavaScript action

Enterprise automation operations

Govern reusable components, runners, secrets, configuration and programmatic changes.

  • Govern what automation is allowed to execute
  • Share automation through controlled component contracts
  • Make hosted runner dependencies explicit

Secure and efficient automation

Constrain untrusted execution and credentials, verify artifacts and measure useful optimisation.

  • Keep untrusted contributions below privileged boundaries
  • Give each job only the token capabilities it needs
  • Bind cloud federation to the intended workload

Build understanding before practising

Read workflow execution in context, implement a small action and verify data and authority boundaries. Original examples distinguish jobs from attempts, cache reuse from release evidence and token issuance from resource permission.

How a study session works

  1. Read the lesson. Follow the ideas, diagrams and worked examples at your own pace.
  2. Check your understanding. Answer the topic checks and read why an answer works.
  3. Finish and continue. Complete the lesson checks to unlock your next lesson. Missed answers stay in mistake review so you can revisit them later.

The questions are original study practice, not real exam questions or exam dumps. Practice scores do not predict an exam pass, and completing a StudyKernel course does not award a vendor credential.

What is free?
